freelance book editors

Stacy Juba is the founder of Shortcuts for Writers, and her goal is to take the writing, editing, and time management tips she learned in the trenches and simplify them for her clients and students.

Stacy published her first novel with Avon Books at age eighteen, and over the years has written sweet and sassy chick lit novels, mysteries about determined women sleuths, and entertaining books for young adults and children. She has had novels ranked as #5 and #11 in the Nook Store and #30 on the Amazon Kindle Paid List.

Stacy has made bestseller lists including GalleyCat’s Barnes & Noble Bestsellers, GalleyCat’s Mystery and Thriller Bestsellers, and multiple Amazon Top 100 lists. She is a past winner of the Avon Flare Young Adult Novel Competition and the William F. Deeck – Malice Domestic Grant for mystery writers.

She is also a freelance developmental editor, online course creator, and an award-winning journalist who has published more than 3,000 articles in newspapers and magazines. She has won over a dozen journalism awards, including recognition from the New England Press Association, Parenting Publications of America, and Suburban Newspapers of America. She is also a recipient of the American Cancer Society New England Chapter’s Sword of Hope Media Award.

Her signature course, Book Editing Blueprint: A Step-By-Step Plan to Making Your Novels Publishable, empowers fiction writers to think like an editor so they can save time and money.  Her other courses include Time Management Blueprint for Writers: Transform Your Life and Finish Your Book, the Energize Your Writing Toolkit: Cheat Sheets for Character Emotions, and the free course Line Editing Made SImple: 5 Days to More Polished Pages.

Stacy runs the Shortcuts for Writers: Editing Made Simple group on Facebook, an international community of more than 2,300 writers of all levels. She is also one of the founders and organizers of the popular Back-to-School For Writers Bundle and contributed a chapter on grammar and punctuation to Red Penguin Books’ guide for writers, Launch Pad: The Countdown to Writing Your Book.
